TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Tampa Bay Chapter was founded nearly three years ago in order to greatly facilitate the development of local start-up businesses. A group of established Tampa Bay entrepreneurs, investors, and start-ups joined forces to replicate the TiE non-profit organization model initially created in Silicon Valley, California. These TiE charter members organize large networking events and invite highly accomplished speakers from Silicon Valley, Washington D.C., Boston, etc. to inspire and educate the Tampa Bay business community on current and successful business practices.
Since its inception, TiE Tampa Bay has funded two start-up businesses and constantly looks for other brilliant start-up ideas to invest in. Further, TiE Tampa Bay has mentorship, education, and business development programs for young new entrepreneurs who are striving to get their ventures off the ground. TiE charter members generate these resources as a way to give back to their community and stimulate the cycle of honorable wealth creation.
PracticeForces founder Kunal Jain serves as the President of TiE Tampa Bay. In this interview with CEO of the Sports Database Network Niesha Butler, he talks about TiE networking opportunities and how our local entrepreneurs can contribute and benefit from them:
“We want to have more involvement from the local community in terms of investors who want to invest their money and take a little bit of risk in start-ups. And we want start-up companies to come forward, be a little bit aggressive, create good business plans, learn from the companies outside the Tampa Bay area, and move forward with their ventures.”
