Fotolia_51194954_Subscription_Monthly_MQuestion: our medicare claims getting rejected because our Tax id is not registered with the medicare id.

Answer: Lots of practices or solo physicians were enrolled in medicare programs through their SSN. This has resulted in confusion when a new billing company starts submitting their claims using the tax id. You have 2 choice:

1. The billing software should be able to generate claims with 2 different ids; for medicare it should send the claims using SSN and for all other commercial insurances it should be able to generateclaims using Tax ID.

2. Practice can fill a practice demographics form and send it to medicare for demographic changes which typically take 90 to 120 days.
